Ciao! October has arrived and “Fall” is in the air!!!
I want to thank all our members who attended our business meeting tonight. It is always so nice to see everyone and to have time to socialize and enjoy our Spuntino! A big “thank you” to the Men’s Club, for always including us to a nice “light super” before our meeting.
Tonight the members voted on the appointments to the following office positions left unoccupied from the 2027-2028 election in September 2026. Recording Secretary: Bev Chernoff, Corresponding Secretary: Lisa Borreani, Treasurer: Becky Lazzarotto, and Financial Secretary: Rose Mary Gish. Thank you, ladies, for returning to these positions. We also initiated two new members into our Fratellanza Women’s Social Club, they are Evette Pennypacker and Silvana Cademartori. Welcome ladies, we look forward to seeing you at our members’ meetings and supporting our events.
September 16, 2026, was our August-September Birthday dinner chaired by member Arlene Howell. We all enjoyed the salad, Gnocchi w/pesto followed by roasted chicken, roast potatoes, and peas and dessert. Thank you to our set-up, wait staff, cooks, raffle helpers and ticket/reservation ladies, and our bartenders, for helping to make this a wonderful evening. Thank you also to our members who brought lovely gifts for our drawing. They are always appreciated!!
The East Bay Bocci Tournament was held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, here at the Fratellanza Club. The Women’s Social Club sponsored two teams: Team #1 Renee Howley-Borreani, Lisa Borreani, Melinda Brignone & Bobbie Giarratana. Team #2 Vera Kaufman, Sally Accurso, Terri Orsi & Nancy McDonough. Cherise DeCoito was the alternate. Results: Team #2took, “First Place” and Team #1 took “Third Place. Congratulations to our ladies for keeping the trophy here at the Fratellanza Club!!!
The “Italian Heritage Parade” will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in San Francisco. This is a great family day to come out and show your Italian colors, watch the parade and see the Blue Angels fly overhead. You may see some of our East Bay Club President’s and representatives riding or walking in the parade. Also, give a wave to our current Colombus Queen Giuliana Sorbi and the new (2027) Colombus Queen and her Court. Don’t miss out on all the food, fun, and activities and most of all let’s honor our Italian heritage!!
On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, bring your family and friends for a delicious “Polenta Dinner”. This evening will be Hosted by our “Board of Directors”. If you can help with set-up or wait staff, you can call or email any one of us. See the bulletin for information and make your reservations early. Drawing prizes are always appreciated. Men are always welcomed to our dinners!!
Installation of officers (2027-2028) will be held during the general membership meeting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Tuesday November 17th is our October/November Birthday Dinner/Bake Sale. Dinner Chair: Char Iacobitti and co-chair Nancy McDonough. A wonderful menu has been selected. More information to follow.
