April Showers Bring May Flowers!
Our meeting tonight was well attended; we had a total of 46 members at our meeting. It is always so nice to see everyone and have time to visit and catch up. Rose Marie Gish installed two new members this evening. Debbie Bisio Dwyer and Janelle Kent. Welcome Ladies to the Fratellanza Women’s Social Club. We look forward to your participation in our club business meetings and upcoming activities. At our April meeting we voted to try something new! Tonight, we had our regular Business meeting. Then on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, we will be combining our “Mother’s Day” and “April/May Birthday” dinners together. Birthday ladies, who qualify, will receive a free dinner and all members who qualify, will receive a free “Mother’s Day” dinner. Our chair ladies are Joanne Greco and Paulette Lagana. If you can help with setting up, call Joanne Greco (510-508-7910). They have a wonderful menu planned. To make your reservations, please call Diane Sericati (510-526-6470) or email Vicki Berndt at fwscreservations@gmail.com see the attached flyer for all information. Reminder: One person makes reservations and picks up tickets for your group. Also, let Diane or Vicki know the name of the member in your group celebrating their April/May birthday so that the birthday girl can receive a “Complimentary Birthday Dinner Certificate” in the mail for one of our next three ”2026” Birthday dinners, July, September or November.
Coming up at our June membership meeting, (per our By-Laws), a nominating committee will be presented. The Nominating committee shall consist of three (3) members in good standing. This committee will make phone calls to all our members who qualify to run for the positions of Officer, Board of Directors, Sentinel or Trustee. When you are called upon, we hope that you will consider joining the officers, board of directors and trustees of our current team to continue to make our club a fun place to come and share good times and good food. Most of all to keep our Italian heritage and culture going strong and also, to keep our membership growing!!
Fratellanza Women’s Social Club has several events coming up in the next few months. Sunday, May 31, 2026, Men’s & Women’s Scholarship Awards Luncheon. Sunday, June 7, 2026, BUNCO. Tuesday July 21, 2026, May/June Birthday Dinner and Bake Sale. Sunday, July 26, 2026, BINGO. August 15, 2026, Scholarship Fundraiser Tea and Sunday August 30, 2026, the Play-Hair Spray in San Francisco. Mark your calendar and watch the bulletin/flyers for more information on these events. I know you won’t want to miss them!
Congratulations to all our “Mothers”, “Moms”, “Nonnies”, “Gammas” in our membership. Enjoy your day! For those of us whose Moms have passed, they will always be in our hearts with love and devotion. Remember to make Mother’s Day a “special” day every day!
In May we celebrate another important day “Memorial Day”. It’s important that we take time to remember the true meaning of this day. Honoring all our military men and women (family/friends) who fought for our country, so that we can enjoy the freedom that we share today.
