I believe our Fratellanza Women’s Social Club has come back strong this year and will only get stronger. There is a lot of going on at the club – bathroom construction in final phases of completion, a paint refresh of our ballroom ceiling and of course, lots of events!
Our February meeting was attended by almost 50 members. We had a great social hour with many members chatting and sharing conversation while enjoying the spuntino served by our Men’s club. A delicious chocolate cake was offered for dessert courtesy of Laurie Gaeta Cullen. A great way to start our meeting!
The January dinner was a great success with over 160 people in attendance and a wonderful meal was served resulting in a fun evening and a nice profit for our club. Thank you to Lynn Giblin and her mentor, Rozz Cantisani, for assembling the fabulous serving crew. Also, huge thank you to our cooking crew for another delicious meal.
The fun will carry-on in February beginning with the Polenta Dinner chaired by Char Iacobitti and Linda Granko. Char addressed the membership to let everyone know she and Linda have assembled a full group of servers for the event. She also said they would appreciate any raffle prize donations for the dinner. The Men’s club will be hosting crab feeds on February 24 and March 3. (There was an email sent that erroneously stated the February 24 event was sold-out. If you received that, there is still space available.)
Rozz Cantisani introduced an updated instructional volunteer packet for members new to chairing dinners and for members providing refreshments at meetings. The updated packet includes instructions for chair persons as well as sign-in sheets for servers, set-up crew members and raffle prize donators. As Lynn Giblin stated in her report of the January dinner, it is a lot of fun. Also, a great way to meet and visit with other members. Try it; bet you’ll like it!
Marilyn Sibitz, Board Chairman, read the minutes of the 2 meetings in January which included discussion regarding the Anniversary Dinner on March 16. Complete Board Meeting minutes are available upon request.
Bobbie Giarratana, our social media contact, advised anyone who wishes to be accepted to the Facebook group to be sure to answer the 2 questions posed when you request to be added to the group. This is a new verification process and you will not be accepted to the Facebook group unless you answer the questions.
Looking forward to seeing you at the March 6 Members’ Meeting. Let’s see if we can surpass the 50-member attendance mark!
Migliori saluti, Nancy
